  • We just survived the first heat wave (and I do mean survived- we had a well/water problem) and my attention has turned to all things summer.
Aloe is one of my favorite plants for seasonal concerns like sunburns and bug bites. BUT, I hate buying it and hate trying to find the bottle when the need arises (with a big household, NOTHING is where you put it last). But, I always know where my houseplant is!
Grow your own aloe and learn how to harvest and preserve its cooling, soothing gel!

  • It's been grueling... These last few days of the school year, finishing book #2, and trying to get the homestead in reasonable order before the throng of summer visitors arrive.
My basic self care has been suffering. I don't know when I attempted to look anything more than "socially acceptable" or "publicly decent."
And my 40 year old skin was suffering for it. Wind whipped, sun reddened, dull, rough and lifeless.
Then I remembered that I had a few jars of this oil cleanser hidden away.
What a difference! My skin is so much happier!
